We are currently living in an age where there is a tempestuous battle between the Word of God and human culture mixed with diverse sentiments. Multitudes daily interpret God's Word on the basis of culture, race, gender, the so-called "political correctness" and woke culture. They embrace these twisted woke ideologies, discarding God's Laws as oppressive and hurtful to their feelings. Such is the perverse nature of secular humanism. Here's the Newsflash to everyone who cares to listen: The Word of God doesn't play the fiddle to any culture, race or gender. One of the most controversial and sensitive issues being undermined by the so-called progressives is the subject of man's Divinely Ordained lordship in Marriage. Several people, including liberal "believers," consider this oppressive and exalting one gender above another, but they only understand it from a purely human perspective (Isa. 55:8-9). Lordship in Marriage must be discerned and implemented solely from God's Own Perspective through His Word.
The Word of God reveals to us the Nature of God Himself. We can rest assured that God is not oppressive but instead He is the Embodiment of Love (1 Jn. 4:7). Every Order that the Lord God Almighty has put in place is for our good and is designed to express His Love for us. The sad reality is that many women enter into the Marriage Covenant with this wrong mentality, making them misconstrue the lordship of their husbands as oppressive. Many men, on the flip side, do not even understand their Divinely Ordained Roles as the head of the home. Therefore they abuse their positions, further fortifying these preconceived notions. The Holy Scriptures clearly explain what the lordship of the man in Marriage should be like. It is essentially being subject to the Lordship of Christ over the Church and it is to take the same form which is to love and lead the woman, provide for her and sacrifice himself for her when necessary just as Christ Jesus Himself does for the Church (Eph. 5:22-33).
