One of the major reasons the Lord Jesus Christ came to the Earth to pay the Ultimate Price for the sins of mankind was to claim for Himself a Bride (Jn. 3:28-30). This Same Bride, also known as the Church, is the Body of Christ, made up of many members (1 Cor. 12:12-27). This Revelation is so important because Genuine Christianity can never thrive without Community. Simply put, the Christian Faith goes beyond merely BELIEVING but also involves BELONGING. This is one of the reasons Apostle Paul emphasized the importance of each joint contributing its quota to the Growth of the Body of Christ: "From Whom the Whole Body, JOINED AND KNIT TOGETHER BY WHAT EVERY JOINT SUPPLIES, according to the Effective Working by which every part does its share, causes Growth of the Body for the edifying of itself in Love" (Eph. 4:16 NKJV). Meditate on this for a moment: The Unity of the Church is facilitated and galvanized by every joint or member's contribution to the Same Body, something which is impossible in isolation.
The devil's strategy for neutralizing the Threat of the Church has always been constant. He always seeks to isolate individual members in order to destroy them. Little wonder the Holy Scriptures refer to him as one who wanders about "like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Pet. 5:8b). Notice that satan seeks WHOM rather than THOSE he may devour. The ramified implication here is that our common adversary understands that the security of the sheep is found under the Care of the Shepherd and within the Sheepfold (Lk. 15:3-7). This is why the devil knows that isolation always precedes destruction. In other words, any misguided Christian he can successfully convince to forsake the Assembly of brethren on account of issues such as offence or guilt becomes vulnerable to his attacks (Heb. 10:25; Acts 4:23-31). Beloved, always avoid the trap of the "lone ranger" because every Christian believer has a blindside or weakness which must be complemented by the strengths of other brethren (Ecc. 4:9-10). The Lord God Almighty grant us the Insight to discern the Unity of the Body of Christ.
