The Subject of the Signs of the End Times is so important, especially since we are currently seeing many of the preliminary signs foretold by the Holy Scriptures unfold before our very eyes (2 Tim. 3:1-7). Understanding this creates the sense of urgency as well as an attitude of sobriety that is needed to survive and thrive in the Last Days. The Lord God Almighty intends for His people to be aware and prepared when the End comes. Although no one can know the exact day and time or hour, we, as Genuine Christian believers, should surely know the Season because the Signs are clear from the Holy Bible.
When His Disciples asked Him to share with them the Signs of the End Times, as can be seen from Matthew 24 verses 3 to 51, the Lord Jesus went ahead to talk about the following Signs:
(a.) INCREASE IN DECEPTION: (verse 4-5)
(b.) WARS AND RUMOURS OF WARS: (verse 6)
(c.) FAMINES/RECESSIONS.
(d.) PESTILENCE/PANDEMICS.
(e.) EARTHQUAKES: (verse 7)
(f.) PERSECUTION, HATING AND KILLING OF THE SAINTS: (verse 9)
(g.) GREAT BACKSLIDING: (verse 10, 12)
(h.) THE RISE AND INCREASE OF FALSE PROPHETS: (verse 11, 24)
(i.) GLOBAL MISSIONS AND EVANGELIZATION OF THE WORLD: (verse 14).
(j.) THE DESECRATION OF THE TEMPLE IN JERUSALEM AS PROPHESIED BY DANIEL THE PROPHET: (verse 15)
(k.) LUNAR AND SOLAR ECLIPSE: (verse 29).
One Major Sign that is not so obvious can be found in verses 36 to 39: The Sign from the story of Noah. Life would be going on as usual as though nothing were happening. People would be marrying, eating and drinking and then without warning, the End would come. Simply put, in spite of all the Signs mentioned above, the majority of mankind would still be unable to interpret them and would be caught unawares. Some of these Signs are already here with us. It is imperative that we understand the urgency of the Times and begin to maximize the time available in order to finish the Task remaining (Eph. 5:16). 2 Peter 3:11 gives the following Divine Admonition: "Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all Holy Conversation and Godliness." There is a type of person we are expected to be as men and women who are living in the Last Days. A Life of Holiness, a sense of Urgency and a focus on finishing the Divine Mandate of God for our lives ought to characterize our Way of Life.
