The Holy Bible makes it absolutely clear that many are called while few are chosen (Matt. 22:14). Anytime it comes down to our Divine Calling in Christ Jesus, everybody has been called by the Lord God Almighty Himself, including even the rebellious (Ps. 68:6). The Holy Scriptures declare that when He ascended on High, He led captivity captive and gave Gifts to men i.e., everyone inclusive since life itself is essentially an Endowment from the Lord (Eph. 4:8). However, it is rather unfortunate to note that not everyone who has a Calling would eventually end up fulfilling theirs simply because not everyone is willing to pay the full designated Price that goes along with it. Apostle Paul told his Spiritual son and protégé Timothy to give himself entirely to his Calling in order that his profiting would appear to men (1 Tim. 4:15). In other words, there is an actual Price for the Divine Election or being chosen by God. When it comes to being chosen, it is we ourselves as individuals who determine whether or not we are going to receive God's Approval. This was one major reason Paul told Timothy to study to show himself approved unto God (2 Tim. 2:15).
There are certain factors that have the potential to disqualify us from being chosen by God hence the onus lies squarely upon us as Genuine Christian believers to avoid them:
LACK OF KNOWLEDGE
(Hos. 4:6; 2 Tim. 2:15) Some of the benefits of quality training and mentorship is the Impartation of Knowledge, Understanding and Wisdom. Anytime people refuse to pay the price for Knowledge, they automatically disqualify themselves from being used by the Lord because God would never use ignorance. He can accept you the way you were initially, but He will never use you the way you are if you're deficient in Knowledge. (2 Tim. 3:16-17).
LACK OF CONSECRATION
This involves giving oneself completely to God’s Holy Purposes/Calling after having been separated from satan, sin, the world and the old (2 Tim. 2:19-21).
UNFAITHFULNESS IN FINANCES
We must be found Faithful in those little things that God commits into our hands (Lk. 16:10-12).
Faith involves us trusting God, but Faithfulness involves God trusting us. The latter has to do with being dependable, reliable and trustworthy. As we mature in the Things of the Spirit, we would begin to realize that God does not just give you what you ask for but rather what you can handle. In other words, serious matters in the Kingdom are entrusted to us on the basis of Trust/Faithfulness (2 Tim. 2:2). Loving and trusting an individual are two entirely different things. Indeed, God loves all of His children, but He does not trust us all equally. The degree to which God can trust you is directly proportional to the degree to which you have proven yourself trustworthy by being Faithful in the Stewardship of His Resources, what belongs to others committed into our care and how Faithful we are in handling those little things He commits into our hands (Matt. 24:45-51; Matt. 25:14-30). The Holy Bible admonishes us to be found Faithful in Stewardship (1 Cor. 4:2). We are not owners but rather Stewards of God’s Resources here on Earth and one day, we are going to give Him an account of our Stewardship.
