Every individual Christian believer must always recall that we have invisible enemies whose major assignment and purpose is to stop us from claiming our Inheritance in Christ Jesus. When we speak about Inheritance, we do not refer to those vain and mundane things like material possessions and property. That Major Inheritance the enemy desires to keep you from claiming is the Promise and Hope of Eternal Security with the Lord God Almighty Himself (Col. 1:27). The same way there were giants impeding the pathway of the Israelites on their way to the Promised Land, today there are demonic hoards and forces doing everything within their power to hinder people from fulfilling their Divine Purpose and representing the Lord Jesus Christ fully within their spheres of influence (1 Cor. 16:9). The primary aim of these adversaries basically involves populating hell with as many people as they possibly can while depopulating Heaven in the process. The Battle of Eternal Security is essentially a Spiritual Battle that requires our adopting a defensive stance against these forces. There are demon spirits all over the universe that influence humans to rebel against the Will of God and ultimately cause them to fall just like Adam and Eve did in the Garden of Eden (2 Cor. 4:3-4).
Apostle Paul in his Epistle to the Church in Ephesus admonished the Christian believers there (and us today by extension) in verse thirteen of the Sixth Chapter: “Having done all, TO STAND.” What Paul is basically saying here is that we have a Divine Responsibility to put on the Whole Armour of God, stand and use it, and continue to use it in order to keep on standing. Here, he implies the possibility of succumbing to the temptation of letting down our guard and getting into a relaxed mode. Having won and secured the Victory for which we may have prayed, fasted and stood in Faith, there is a subtle tendency to lose our focus and then yield to the relentless assaults of the devil. Please recognize that many times, satan attacks after the Victory due to our complacency and lack of vigilance (Amos 6:1). We must avoid falling into the trap of getting overconfident or complacent because 1 Corinthians 10:12 (NKJV) warns us by saying “Let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.” When you have done everything according to the Word of God and it seems as though nothing is happening, then you must still stand. This entails we must of necessity maintain the Spiritual Stamina required to endure. Stand firm, hold your ground and protect your territory from the enemy by submitting to God after which you knock the devil out in the Name of Jesus.
Many Christian believers do not comprehend what Spiritual Warfare truly entails. Because the Holy Scriptures say “FOR WE WRESTLE NOT AGAINST FLESH AND BLOOD, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of darkness in this world and against wicked spirits in the Heavenlies…” (Eph. 6:12), those ignorant ones amongst us often engage the devil as if in a physical wrestling contest. In other words, stand firm, resist the devil and then continuously enforce your Victory in Christ Jesus for our Warfare has already been accomplished, and we have the Victory (Isa. 40:2). The Prophet Amos warned the children of Israel under the Inspiration of the Holy Ghost "Woe unto them that are at ease at Zion" (Amos 6:1). We are God's Endtime Army and soldiers of the Cross with the enemy watching us, waiting for us to gift him an opening to strike. Therefore, no slouching, no sleeping, no complacency.
Stay alert and keep on standing so that you would definitely overcome since there is no leave of absence in Spiritual Warfare. Selah
