The Law of Study is fundamentally the expression of the Biblical Saying "seek and you shall find." This Law or Principle declares that for anything you want to achieve, obtain or master, you must first of all convert it into a study. In other words, turn the questions, problems and obstacles you face into opportunities to launch an inquiry, to research and to carry out fact-finding expeditions. The Lord Jesus made it abundantly clear in Matthew 7:7 that seeking is the key to finding. This, essentially, is the Primary Task that God has entrusted to all of mankind (Ecc. 1:12-13 NIV). Not to embark on this Sacred Task is to forfeit every Treasure and Resource that God has already made available for us.
In Proverbs 25:2, the Holy Bible declares the following Truth: "It is the Glory of God to conceal a thing: BUT THE HONOUR OF KINGS IS TO SEARCH OUT A MATTER." Similar to precious metals such as gold and silver which are buried, concealed and hidden deep beneath the Earth's surface, the Lord God Almighty hides His Treasures, Kingdom Secrets and His Glorious Truths. He only makes them available to those people who are diligent seekers and studious learners (Prov. 23:23). To seek is to find and likewise, in the same manner, NOT to seek is NOT to find. Simply put, to study is to learn and not to study is not to learn.
The Law of Study has Three Major Components to it. Any individual who has cultivated a regimen of study would make a lifestyle of the following Three things:
READING OR LISTENING
The Lord Jesus in His Teachings would often ask those who cared enough to listen "Have you not read..." (Matt. 22:31a). Apostle Paul also told his Spiritual son Timothy as part of his instructions to the latter: *"Till I come, give attendance to reading..." (1 Tim. 4:13a). A studious person is inevitably a lover of books, whether in the written formats, audio formats and everything in-between.
MEDITATION
This crucial process implies a definite channeling of one's thoughts on something in order to understand it deeply. Whenever describing meditation, there are two terms that spring to mind i.e., MUTTERING (repetitive chants of what is studied within) and IMAGINING (Josh. 1:8). Anything that is read or heard must be broken down and digested before it can be used and benefited from.
PRACTICE OR ACTION
The endgame of every Genuine Meditation is intentional action, practice and implementation (Jam. 1:22-25). It is in the place of practice and action that those Treasures which have been sought out in Study take life and become useful to the user.
