Every Genuine Christian believer must come to terms with the fact that we are basically Stewards of the Lord God Almighty's Riches and Resources (Jn. 3:27). The Lord Himself is the Ultimate Creator and Owner of all that exists, whereas man has been made a steward or trustee of everything created. This Truth also applies to our children whom we have been privileged by the Lord God Himself to raise.
As we have already seen in our Key Scriptural Text, the Holy Scriptures reveal that children could be likened to "arrows in the Hand of a Warrior..." (Ps. 127:4). This profound and thought-provoking phrase then begs the question: Who exactly is the Warrior being referred to here? Some presumptuous persons would claim "the biological father, of course!" But can we claim with absolute certainty that is really what the Bible is saying? The verse directly preceding this goes on to simplify this puzzle: "Behold, children are a heritage FROM THE LORD, the fruit of the womb is a reward" (vs 3). What does this statement actually mean? The Lord God Almighty Himself is THE WARRIOR in question while the children are the arrows He holds in His Hand. Nevertheless, it is a known fact that it's practically impossible for any sound archer to launch his arrows without the agency of a sound bow (Ezek. 39:9). On this same premise, all skilled archers preserve their arrows within quivers in order to prevent them from becoming defective (Isa. 49:2). This is the Wisdom of God: THE LORD HIMSELF IS THE ARCHER, THE FATHERS ARE THE BOWS WHILE THE MOTHERS ARE THE QUIVERS.
The onus lies therefore upon us as Genuine Stewards to understand that children come FROM the Lord God Almighty but THROUGH their parents. Simply put, God remains the Source of our children while we as intentional parents remain those channels He designed to birth them and guide them through this world. May the Lord open our eyes constantly to effectively raise these Godly Seeds we call our children who actually belong to the Lord God Almighty.
