Based on our previous devotional, it is rather apparent that our children are the Lord's Heritage therefore they have been entrusted by Him to us as parents in order to guide them towards fulfilling their Divinely Ordained Purpose in life. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Prophet Isaiah emphatically declared this in the Holy Scriptures: "Here am I and the children whom the Lord has given me! We are for Signs and Wonders in Israel from the Lord of Hosts, Who dwells in Mount Zion" (Isa. 8:18). Every single Godly parent has received a Divine Obligation to keep their children firmly on the Right Path at every point in time.
The Holy Scriptures enlighten us by providing a Divine Template for how every single child born in a Godly family is expected to develop, using the Lord Jesus as the Ultimate Prototype: "And Jesus increased in Wisdom and Stature, and in Favour with God and men"(Lk. 2:52). The aforementioned scripture shows us Four Different Capacities which the Lord Jesus Himself cultivated during His Own Earthly Ministry:
INTELLECTUAL CAPACITY
("and Jesus increased IN WISDOM..."). Godly parents have a Divine Duty to instill within their children a Genuine zeal or passion for education and training (Isa. 33:6). Simply put, Purpose defines us while Total Education refines us.
PHYSICAL CAPACITY
("and STATURE...") We must teach them the importance of staying physically fit through regular exercise and healthy through a proper balanced diet. This would help our children live long enough to fulfil their God-given Purpose in life (3 Jn. 2).
SPIRITUAL/MORAL CAPACITY
("and IN FAVOUR WITH GOD...) Every single human being, including our own dear children, was created to please the Lord God Almighty. However, one can only please the One Whom one has an Experiential Knowledge of in the first place i.e., Ginosko in the Greek Language (Jn. 17:3).
SOCIAL CAPACITY
("AND MEN.") One of the most critical skills we have to teach our children is the intentional building up of quality networks. This is important because the one who is rich in relationships is the one who is rich indeed (Prov. 27:17).
Godly parents have been entrusted by the Lord God Almighty with the Responsibility of stewarding their children's destinies. The onus, therefore, lies upon us to guide them unto their God Ordained Paths as early in life as possible. The Lord God Almighty Himself continually help us with the Grace to fulfil this sobering yet fulfilling task.
