As a follow up to yesterday's devotional which covers the Benefits of Service in the Kingdom of the Lord God Almighty, it is essential for us to emphasize the importance of Genuine Service which needs to be rendered towards both God and man. This is basically what Genuine Ministry entails because any act that glorifies God and edifies man could be termed as Ministry. What so many Christian believers fail to understand is that Service is still the Pathway to Greatness and Distinction in this life (2 Kgs. 3:11-12). This Truth is established in a certain wise adage: "Life is like a game of tennis: He who serves well ends up the winner." What a truly profound statement. The onus, therefore, rests upon us as True Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ to serve Him with all our hearts because the Lord God Almighty truly pays (Gal. 6:9). He may not always pay right at the end of the day, the end of the week or the end of the month. Nevertheless, whenever He pays, everybody would clearly know that He has paid well with a "Good Measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over..." (Lk. 6:38b).
Below are the remaining Fundamental Benefits of Service, serving as a follow-up on the previous study i.e., Divine Prosperity, Divine Distinction and Divine Memorial.
DIVINE PROTECTION
The Lord God Almighty has a Primary Obligation towards His assets rather than His liabilities (Mal. 3:16). In other words, Genuine Service makes us His Assets and every businessman always maximizes his assets while minimizing his liabilities.
DIVINE HEALTH/HEALING
Serving the Lord genuinely in Spirit and in Truth is one Major Key that secures our health as His children (Ex. 23:25). Every wise workman always ensures that his useful tools and materials are constantly in good shape so as to maximize their effectiveness, efficiency and profit.
DIVINE HONOUR
The Lord God Almighty would always honour those who make it their Topmost Priority to honour Him by rendering Quality Service to Him (1 Sam. 2:30). Truly, it is that servant who diligently waits on his master that would definitely be honoured (Prov. 27:18).
DIVINE IMPARTATION
Only those individuals who render Genuine Service to God and His servants become qualified to receive a double portion of the Grace upon the Ministry and Ministers they serve ever so faithfully (2 Kgs. 2:1-15).
